1. 15 of the world’s top 25 hotels are located in Las Vegas.

2. Casinos not your cup of tea? There is actually a heavy equipment playground where you can have fun by driving bulldozers.

3. The Luxor Sphinx stands101 feet high and is larger than the original.

4. When it was first opened, The Wynn hotel and casino, was the most expensive one in the World.

5. The Bellagio has a whopping 3933 rooms, which means that it hosts more people than the number of persons that live in Bellagio, Italy.

6. The distinctive gold colour of the windows at the Mirage Hotel comes from authentic gold dust.

7. Contrary to popular belief, the Tangiers Casino from the Martin Scorsese’s movie “Casino” never existed.

8.Surprisingly, there is a “black book” in Las Vegas, and if you have the bad luck to be in it, then you are prohibited to set foot in any casino in Vegas.

9. The largest bronze statue in the country is located outside the MGM Grand Hotel, the bronze lion weighs a hefty 50 tons.

10. Liberace had a $300,000 salary per week, when he performed at the Hilton hotel, in the 70s.

11. The largest sum of money ever won was at the Excalibur casino. After a $100 bet, a 25 year-old man won $39 million. He managed the beat the incredible odds of 1 in 16.7 million.

12. In Las Vegas you will never find a casino that uses dices with rounded corners.

13. Vegas Vic, the oversized neon cowboy that is situated over downtown’s famed Fremont Street is the largest mechanical neon sign in the world.

14. The half-scale model of the Eiffel Tower, located outside Paris Las Vegas, was originally intended to be full-size, but due to the close proximity of the airport it had to be shrunk down.

15. The Las Vegas Strip appears as the brightest spot on Earth, you can even see it from outer space!

16. Michael Jackson had plans to build a 50-foot tall moon walking robot replica of himself to roam the Las Vegas desert. It was intended to be an advertisement for a planned 2005 comeback.

17. In the 80s a Las Vegas hospital had to suspend workers who were betting on when patients would die. One nurse was even accused of murdering a patient so she would win.

18. It would take 288 years for one person to spend one night in every hotel room in Las Vegas.

19. Paradoxically, just outside of Vegas is Boulder City, one of the only two cities in Nevada that prohibits gambling.

20. The electric bill for the Luxor pyramid’s shining light is $51 per hour.
