The rumors have been confirmed, Conor McGregor will attempt to become a two-weight UFC champion at UFC 197 on March 5 in Vegas. 

The hotly anticipated fight against UFC lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos, will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

If he wins, McGregor will become the first fighter in history to hold UFC world titles in two different weight classes simultaneously.

However, his opponent, Rafael Dos Anjos, is not a man to be taken lightly. He defeated Anthony Pettis last March to capture the Lightweight title, and then defended it successfully vs. Donald Cerrone last month, just one week after McGregor defeated Aldo.

Like McGregor, Dos Anjos took little to no damage in his title defense, finishing Cerrone in just 66 seconds of the very first round.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday, Jan. 22. The UFC will host a press conference on Wednesday, Jan. 20 in Las Vegas with all four athletes, plus UFC President Dana White, to launch the event.
