Are you a Star Wars fan? Then you’ll be delighted to know that parts of the next movie will be filmed just outside Vegas, in the desert between Las Vegas and Pahrump. 

The location, in southern Nevada, will represent the semi-arid part of the planet Jakku.

Writer and director Rian Johnson, is said to have personally chosen the location and will need the help of an extraordinarily large number of extras from Las Vegas and the surrounding areas.

According to reports, the production team have chosen to shoot in Nevada due to significant incentives offered by the state to production companies who shoot there.
