702 ENT, one of Las Vegas’ leading concierge companies, has learnt that Clark County commissioners have given the go-ahead for Resorts World Las Vegas to begin construction.
The 87.8 acre, Asian themed mega project was approved without discussion on the Zoning Commission’s consent agenda last Wednesday.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the $4 billion hotel-casino project will include more than 7,000 hotel rooms, villas and suites along with an arena/conference area and four high-rise hotels,
3,307 rooms and suites along with a public space of 657,000 square feet are expected to be completed in phase one of the build.
The new mega project will be accessible from the Strip, Resorts World Drive, and Sammy Davis Jr. Drive in Las Vegas
Gerald Gardner, Resorts World Las Vegas General Counsel, said commission approval “was a significant step in the project,” which has sat dormant since Boyd Gaming Corp. halted the Echelon development in August 2008. Malaysia-based Genting purchased the site, once home to the Stardust, in 2013 for $350 million.
A ceremonial groundbreaking took place last year, however full scale construction is expected to begin this summer with the official opening expected to take place in mid-2018.
