Christmas is a truly magical time. But we believe that nowhere oozes more majesty and wonder than Las Vegas during Christmas. With the exciting neon lit strip, some might argue that Christmas never really ends in Sin City.
So if you are looking to do something different this year, we have summed up the top ten things to do over the holidays in Las Vegas.
1. Go for a skate at the Cosmopolitan
Just for the holiday season, the Cosmopolitan imports a special ice-making machine to produce a beautiful skating surface for visitors to enjoy. A great place to go if you’re looking to enjoy a romantic date night!
2. Enjoy some sinful holiday spirits
Mixologists are keeping busy in every corner of Las Vegas during the holidays. Go try the amazing selection of spectacular hand-crafted cocktails at the Fusion Latin Mixology bar at the Venetian. You won’t regret it!
3. Visit the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens
Yeah, it’s a tourist trap, and possibly the most photographed spot in Las Vegas, but the Conservatory & Botanical Gardens at the Bellagio is also your best bet for a cheap date during the holidays in Vegas. Check out the largest Christmas tree on the Strip and then head outside and enjoy the show at the Bellagio Fountains. None of it costs a penny.
4. Skate…and drink… at Caesars Chalet
Caesars Palace has expanded its Caesars Chalet this year with a larger ice rink and a wider view of the neon lights on Las Vegas Blvd. Meanwhile, The Cosmopolitan has transformed its Boulevard Pool into an outdoor ice rink complete with fire pits where you can roast marshmallows in between drinks.
5. Holidays from the Heart with Kristen Hertzenberg
Not a fan of Christmas music? Wait until you hear the sophisticated sounds of Kristen Hertzenberg and pianist Philip Fortenberry. Kristen has a truly magnificent voice that’s sure to evoke that warm Christmas feeling deep in your belly.
6. Holiday Havoc at Hard Rock
If you prefer your holiday music light on the reindeer games and open fires, the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will host its annual Holiday Havoc rockfest. Sponsored by local radio station X107.5, this year’s show will feature London-based headliners Bastille on December 15, along with Silversun Pickups, Fidlar and The Moth & The Flame.
7. The Nutcracker
For something truly magical this Christmas, go see The Nutcracker at Reynolds Hall. This awe-inspiring show by the Nevada Ballet Theatre has been described by the Las Vegas Sun as “the most visually beautiful production ever staged”.
8. Leave the house for Christmas dinner
On the big day, make sure to have a table booked at Andrea’s in Encore at Wynn. Created by Executive Chef Joseph Elevado, renowned for his mastery of Asian flavors, and Sommelier Samuel Roe, Andrea’s “Winter Wine-derland” rotating menus will include specially-priced small plates paired with a selection of wines and new specialty cocktails.
For something more traditional, book a table at Whist Stove and Spirits who will be serving up prime rib, Yorkshire pudding, and a baked potato for just $20.
