And just then – that culminating moment you’ve been waiting for actually happens – you’ve just become a millionaire! Here at 702 ENT, apart from offering you an impeccable concierge service, we also wanted to treat our clientele by listing some of the biggest jackpot winners who made history…

It’s good to Break the Bank …sometimes

It’s not always the worst idea to ignore your budget. On November 15, 1998, then 67-year-old retired flight attendant from Vegas racked up one of the city’s largest slot payout of $27,580,879.60. She had only intended to play $100 at Palace Station that day, but ended up putting $300 instead. We’re pretty sure she didn’t regret breaking the bank one bit.

Always start your day with a Good Breakfast

The early bird catches…the $22.6 million slot jackpot. Well, we’re assuming that’s how Johanna Heundl of Covina, California, might remember it. Back in 2002, she was on her way to breakfast when she decided to stop and play a Bally’s. Having looked away for a moment, she couldn’t believe her eyes when she turned back and saw all the logos aligned in the payline.

Two times Lucky

What are the odds? Certainly, anyone would be happy to score just one single jackpot. But not everyone is Elmer Sherwin. A frequent Vegas visitor, Sherwin, a World War II vet was 76 when he hit his first jackpot of $4.6 million at The Mirage back in 1989. He made good use of his win by travelling the world. But fate had even better things in store.

Even with the big win, Sherwin still continued to play the slots once or biweekly, in the hopes of being the first second-time winner. Sixteen years later, at the age of 92, that lucky player did it again, this time at the Cannery Casino Hotel – adding another $21.1 million to his bank account. This time around, he gave a lot of his money to charity, including the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Some dreams don’t cost a dime

It’s true what they say – the best things in life are free…especially when they lead to a $17.3 million jackpot. A Las Vegas woman stopped by the M Resort in Henderson, in 2012, to gamble with her “free play” credits and enjoy a meal with some dining vouchers. Before she knew it, she’d become a multimillionaire!

If it ain’t broke…

Before heading back to her room, a woman visiting her niece in Vegas decided to drop $6 in a slot machine. Her reaction when the winning symbols lined up: “The machine broke.” Fortunately, her niece was there to explain things. We think we should book a room at Aria, because about four months after that jackpot happened, another jackpot hit at the resort for $10,636,897.

The Suitcase Man

Of all the urban legends in the gambling sphere, that of the “Suitcase Man” is true: on September 24, 1980 – William Lee Bergstrom walked into Binion’s Horseshoe casino in Las Vegas with two suitcases—one filled with cash, one empty—and placed his entire $777,000 on the Don’t Pass line at a craps table. He doubled his money on a single roll of the dice, and then drove off with both suitcases filled with his winnings.
