Best Ways to Get Around in Vegas According to 702 ENT

So you planned a trip to Las Vegas but didn’t factor in transportation. Don’t worry, because 702 ENT has your back! Vegas’ public transportation system makes getting around the city easy peasy! Offering convenient taxis, reasonably priced buses, pedestrian-friendly streets, and a monorail – what more can you ask for? While opting for a rental car might sound tempting, in actuality, you won’t really need it to get around.

From the Airport…

Uber or Lyft – the great thing is, won’t be breaking the bank, as both are cheaper than taxis. With UberX, you can get anywhere on the strip for less than $10, what’s more is, you can even get to downtown Vegas for about $15, which is less than half the price you can expect to pay for a taxi fare.

Public transportation – A shuttle service at the north and west sides of the baggage claim areas is usually available just outside door Exits 8 to 14. Bell Trans and Grayline/Coach (702-739-5700) are the two most common. Shuttle service between the airport and The Strip are about $4 per person and about $5 per person for a ride from the airport to downtown Las Vegas.

Shuttles run 24/7 and are the best option since they’re closer to the baggage claim area and drivers are helpful with luggage and tourist information. Moreover, shuttles often provide magazines with coupons and up-to-date information on headliners and attractions in Las Vegas.

Using the Citizens Area Transit Bus System located on the ground level at McCarran could be another option. A one-way fare on Route 301 to The Strip costs $2; a one-way fare off-strip on other routes cost $1.25. A total of 49 bus routes are available to take you throughout Las Vegas and surrounding areas.

Getting Around…

The Citizens Area Transit Bus System has routes running along The Strip for 24 hours, but be cautious if you explore other areas like downtown, because there, you can only catch a bus from 5:30am to 1:30am. Getting stranded far from your hotel room and paying $40 for a taxi to drive you back ain’t fun. The one-way bus fare on The Strip is $2 per ride and $1.25 in other areas like downtown.

The Las Vegas Strip Trolley is a convenient way to travel Las Vegas Boulevard from 9:30am to 1:30am daily. The trolley’s North Loop serves the major Strip hotels and South Loop, then makes its way to the South Coast Hotel & Casino and Las Vegas Outlet Centre, among other stops and costs $2.50 per ride.

The Deuce is a double-decker bus that services Las Vegas Boulevard. There’s a choice between 53 upper deck seats and 27 lower deck seats. A one-way fare is $2 or you can opt for an all-day pass for $5.

The Las Vegas Monorail runs along the east side of The Strip between the Mobil Three-Star MGM Grand and the Mobil Two-Star Sahara hotels. The price is $5 for a one-way ticket, $9 for a two-way ticket, and $40 for a three-day pass. Two monorail lines work free of charge on the west side of The Strip. One tram runs in a loop 24 hours daily between Excalibur, the Mobil Three-Star Luxor, and the Mobil Three-Star Mandalay Bay. The other monorail system travels between the Mobil Three-Star Treasure Island and the Mobil Three-Star The Mirage from 7 am to 2 am daily.

The Old School way …On foot

If you plan to walk it around Las Vegas, winter, fall, and spring months are ideal for walking from one place to another. Hotels are set up to get you in their establishment, so you won’t spend much time wandering. They spent loads of dough on elevated walkways that transport you over the major intersections along The Strip.

So, if you’re into gambling and watching spectacular shows, you’ve certainly picked the right place.
