Following in the footsteps of legends such as Elvis Presley and Celine Dion, rapper Big Boi has announced that he’s going to hold a yearlong residency at the Wynn in Las Vegas.
Starting this month, the rapper has said that he will be jetting into Las Vegas to perform once a month throughout the whole of 2016.
Ironically, a yearlong residency in Vegas is the sort of thing Big Boi can do when he and Andre 3000 aren’t working on a new Outkast album, but it’s also the sort of thing that would probably make him too busy to work on a new Outkast album anyway. In other words, there may never be a new Outkast album.
Vegas residencies are famously lucrative, and Sir Lucious Left-Foot is likely earning a sum well into the seven figures for his nine scheduled performances at the Wynn.
Other performers such as Take That, Billy Idol, Elton John and Lionel Richie, to name but a few, are all currently performing their own Las Vegas residencies.
